Trinity Blvd Trail
The Trinity Boulevard Trail is a portion of the Orange Belt Trail along Trinity Boulevard from Little Road to Gunn Highway. IMPORTANT: While this trail is a part of the Orange Belt Trail, it is not a part of the current PD&E study taking place.
This section of the trail has been divided into three (3) parts to address funding requirements. The three (3) phases are:
Phase 1 (PH1) – Trinity Blvd Trail: The 12-foot multi-purpose trail starts at the existing sidewalk in the southwest corner of the Trinity Blvd/Little Rd intersection then proceeds along the south side of Trinity Blvd to connect with the existing trail in the southwest corner of the Trinity Blvd/Cool Springs Pkwy intersection. The trail will proceed from the existing trail in the southwest corner of the Cool Springs Pkwy/Community Dr intersection; then proceed across Community Drive and along the east side of Community Drive to the south side of SR 54. This section of the trail is currently in the 60% Design Stage with construction proposed for early 2026.
Phase 2 (PH2) – State Road 54 Trail: The 12-foot multi-purpose trail starts on the east side of the intersection of Community Drive and State Road 54. The trail will then proceed east along the south side of State Road 54 to a proposed pedestrian crossing (exact location to be determined through the results of a safety analysis, where the trail will cross State Road 54 and continue along the north side of the right-of-way to Fencepost Drive. (The trail from Fencepost Drive to Gunn Highway has been constructed by others.)
Phase 3 (PH3) – Trinity Blvd Trailhead: A trailhead facility is proposed on the south side of Trinity Boulevard at the intersection with the Starkey Gap Trail. The facility will include an access drive, gravel parking area for twenty (20) vehicles, and will connect to the existing Starkey Gap Trail. The possibility of the trailhead facility containing public restrooms is under consideration.
At present, the 60% Design Plans are complete, and staff is working on addressing comments received. Permit applications were submitted in late May 2025 and staff is waiting on their review. Construction is scheduled to begin in early 2026.
